A member of the public has chased a man accused of indecent acts towards children through Sydney’s inner west before conducting a citizen’s arrest. Detectives from the sex crime squad put out a warrant on Monday for River Jordan, 32, who also goes by the name of Daniel Dowdy, after learning he had ripped off his ankle bracelet and destroyed it. In their appeal to locate him, police said he could be spending time in public toilets. They warned the public not to approach him and instead to call a police hotline if he was seen. About noon on Friday, a member of the public spotted and recognised Jordan on Upward Street in Leichhardt but instead of dialling the hotline, chased after him.
