The Ogun State Government has said that residents of communities around Laderin and Prof Wole Soyinka Train station, Abeokuta, will soon heave a sigh of relief as it is determined to fix the deplorable Laderin-Train Station road. The Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, disclosed this in a statement on Monday during the 60th Birthday and Retirement Service in honour of the outgone Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Abosede Ogunleye, at Alleluia Chapel, along Ajebo Road, Abeokuta. Talabi said the development was part of efforts to ease both human and vehicular movements in the area. He said the present administration was poised to ameliorate the hardship people encountered when travelling via the train station. Talabi explained that “the road being federal, needs the Federal Government’s concurrence, but now, the road has been rated and accredited. So, we are going through the approval procedures now, and we are confident that in a short while, work will begin on that road. “We have been on this issue for a while now, and we are optimistic that it will become a reality soon”. In his sermon, the presiding Minister of the church, Pastor Paul Daniel, commended the government for its developmental strides in the state and for extending palliative distribution to the church members. He attested that the retired Permanent Secretary was an epitome of generosity and diligence, urging her to continue to put her virtue to bear in serving humanity, even in retirement In 2023, some residents of Laderin, Olokuta, and Idi-Aba communities in the Abeokuta South Local Government area of the state lamented the hardship they encountered in accessing the Prof. Wole Soyinka train station in Abeokuta, the state capital. They described the state of the road as hellish, especially when it rains. https://punchng.com/ogun-communities-lament-state-of-train-station-link-road
