Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon ‘definitely interested’ in fostering after ‘scary’ wake-up call

webnexttech | Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon 'definitely interested' in fostering after 'scary' wake-up call

Doting father-of-four Joe Swash has revealed he and Stacey Solomon are “definitely interested” in fostering. The former EastEnders actor opened up about his family life during a recent chat with The Express and shared his thoughts about the possibility of fostering a child as he has just become the first ambassador for Comfort Cases, a foster care charity which aims to support vulnerable children across England and Wales. But Joe has mentioned he and Stacey Solomon were both interested in fostering their own child after making a huge realisation about the actor’s mother Kiffy, who set an example for him to follow. Kiffy has been a foster parent herself for over a decade, leading Joe to develop a close bond with foster sibling Daniel following his move to the family home when he was only seven years old. When questioned about the possibility of becoming foster parents, Joe explained that the thought of Daniel leading a very different life without Kiffy “scared” him and Stacey to the point they began to consider fostering as an option. “It would definitely be of interest to both Stacey and I,” he said when talking about fostering, “as we have seen the difference my mum has made to little Daniel’s life and the young man he is growing up to be and it truly scares us to think what could’ve happened if my mum had never met him; and the difference it would’ve made to his life.” Joe added he was also hoping to raise awareness around the importance of foster care as his mother’s experiences with foster children have helped him realise what “love, attention, and stability” can bring to a child. “Kids in the care system has always been something at the forefront of my family, with my mum being a foster carer. Seeing the difference that love, attention, and stability can make to a child as a result of foster care is amazing.” The I’m A Celebrity star shares Rex, 5, Rose, 2, and one-year-old Belle with wife Stacey, whom he wed during an intimate ceremony held at their home, Pickle Cottage, in Essex, on July 24, 2022. Joe has a son named Harry, 17, from his previous relationship with former fiancée Emma Sophocleous. He is also a stepfather to her two oldest sons, Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 11. Fostering was first mentioned by Joe on the Netmums Podcast as he claimed last year: “Fostering is something that me and Stacey have talked about and would love to do. We’d love to foster, we’d love to give something back, you know? It is something that we definitely want to do, when our kids get old enough that they’re not as reliant on us.” He added: “Touch wood, we’re both healthy enough and fit enough. We’ll have to wait until the time comes, but we’re open to the option.” Stacey previously hinted she wasn’t opposed to the idea of welcoming a fourth child with Joe, a sixth into her already-large family. But speaking about her broody mood on her BBC program Sort Your Life Out, she confessed: “I can’t even handle what I have now.” Follow Mirror Celebs onTikTok,Snapchat,Instagram,Twitter,Facebook,YouTubeandThreads.
