A Coatbridge dance school has won their most trophies at a single competition after bringing home 133 awards. NC Dance, which opened its doors in 2010 and now has around 150 kids through the studio doors every week for a variety of classes, completed the monumental feat at the UK Street Dance Championships at Alton Towers from February 23 to 25. The kids aged from five to 19 years old competed in solo, duo, quad and team categories, bringing home 133 trophies – this included 45 first-place champions. As well as this, the three ‘highest scoring teams of the day’ were from NC Dance as rezilieNCe took the top spot, patieNCe claimed second and iNCeption took third place. The school’s proud owner, Nadine Creaney, told Lanarkshire Live: “I’m so proud of every kid who danced. “They are getting better every time they step on the floor and it wouldn’t be possible without the support of the parents. “We’re now home and are currently training for the UDO World Championships in August, where we head to Blackpool for four days to compete against dancers from over 35 countries. “Last year, our under-12 novice team patieNCe were crowned world champions and they’ve been working non-stop to improve for 2024.” *Don’t miss the latest headlines from around Lanarkshire.
